Re: Betty White, the poor neglected race car

Draynor has bought multiple F bodies for 1k or lower, pulled the engine/tranny, and sold the body for his original purchase price. Free engine.

So you fly model airplanes?
Um. I have flown model airplanes.

That one never flew, never had a motor installed. If it ever flys it will be electric, but I really just need to get rid of it.

I did build a little foam board Corsair and got it functioning this summer, but never flew it.

Re: Jacob's More Newer "Wagon"

Tires and Oil. Pretty much the same thing. New tires for this thing. Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail. They have the snow 3 mountain peak symbol, a 65k mileage warranty, and they are smooth at 70 on the freeway. This is apparently the tire all the Subi guys run. I think it looks good, not overly aggressive...

I have installed a ton of Rough Country stuff. Cant complain too much for the price. Usually went together pretty well.

Back definitely looks taller. Front looks a just a little stouter.

Re: Laecaons New Place!

Knew I needed more space for things. Built a few more shelves. First up I built a above the garage door shelf. This was annoying to build, as I could not find any studs above the garage door. https://bl3302files.storage.live.com/y4mUWdBBdjrmcNl9Hy2-e8zNozBC1eb2fmSFiJnWGeFRze51cNnX-VmrNYfd1q7jaFaKUKE...

Re: Jacob's goon build

And its home!!! The X5 makes for a pretty good tow rig. While I noticed the weight on acceleration, braking was cake. And if I really needed to, I could bury my foot and make it go. Other than that, its real stable. Used a HF come-along to pull it onto the trailer, as well as some Ratchet Straps. ht...

Re: Wynona the wagon's resurrection!

Yea, I forgot to pull the original FPR off of the CA, and I needed to do mockup with the new FPR in the engine bay. I still dont know how I removed the philips screws. I replaced with hex head, but thats awkward too.

Re: Laecaons New Place!

Had some remnants of wood laying around here. Made a shelf. For now my cordless tools are sitting on it, but that is temporary.

I really need to run electricity in the garage too. And too bad it's on a 15A breaker.

Re: Jacob's More Newer "Wagon"

I should mention. While it was being worked on. I got to drive my moms brand new Mercedes. The windows on that are not tinted. I was amazed by how much heat was hitting the side of my face from the sun. I have been driving a tinted window car for the last 6 years. It makes a huge difference.

Re: Jacob's More Newer "Wagon"

I totally forgot. I got the windows tinted back in February. 25% all around. Ceramic. 3M brand. Supposedly 99%UV rejection, and 59% solar heat rejection. Ceramic is supposedly like 3-5X better at heat rejection than non ceramic. Well with summer here, I got more done. Had the sunroof tinted in 80% C...

The thing I figured out. Everyone in my parents generation remembers there parents owning one, or learning to drive on one. They love seeing them on the road.
