Back in my old 720

Well the other day I got my first nissan/Datsun back! I traded my hardbody for it.
It's exactly how I left it except the last owner did a HG, and installed an electric fan.
Tonight my throttle got stuck and whenever I started the truck it would rev all the way up, Wayno just came and helped me, turns out there was just a piece of foam from my ghetto air cleaner holding the secondary butterfly open..
Already changed the oil, and besides that I haven't done much to it yet.

Thanks man! I didn't think I'd get it back, even though I only sold it like 9 months ago.. But since it's my second time owning this one I feel like I have to make it ten times cooler then I ever wanted, it just makes sense to go balls out on it now that I got it back haha

This reminded me a little bit of a Datsun wagon, and since I can't afford one of those and this thing was dirt cheap, don't ask how cheap, I picked it up for a second project to flip, then I'll be able to fix the problems with my 720 with the profit I make on this Subaru wagon!
If anyone remembers, when I firSt owned this 720 I took it into a curb and one wheel sits further back in the wheel well, I have a bent LCA, so after I flip this wagon I'm gonna buy a control arm for the 720.

Your control arm is not the issue Justin, it is likely just fine, it's how far back the front tension rod mount is bent/pushed back, and that is not easily fixed.
To actually fix it you will have to cut off the mount that is on there and weld a new one on, or maybe, just maybe one might be able to bend the mount back forward, not sure if it is possible really, but maybe if you had some heat, a big bar, and sledge hammer, one might be able to get it close enough.
If you could find another tension rod that was a couple inches shorter, that might work also.

But there's a kid at my school who's really good at doing anything involved with metal, he's got a welder, torch, and pretty much anything you could think of at his dad's shop, he does work for cheap, he offered to help me c notch my frame for $50 and he would supply the welding wire and gas. Anyways, I'm sure he wouldn't charge me much to heat that mount up and help me pound it forward, I'm hopefully doing that this weekend, but I want to replace the LCA too because that has to be contributing to the problem too.
Either way, this truck is really clean and I really wanna fix it haha

You have to keep in mind that your front frame tension rod mount hit the ground really hard and was bent back a couple inches, that will move the lower control arm back exactly the same amount, I suspect that if you were to remove the tension rod, the control arm would move back to the stock position, and you likely would never be able to get the tension rod connected back up without fixing the front mount.

I'll take it to school and put it on a lift and inspect it all more.
I'm gonna start with trying to get that mount bent back to where it should be though, I hope I can get it back, because like you said if the rod doesn't go back in I'm fucked haha.

Oh and another truck update, I got a free weber today, it came off some kid in my classes old 720, so I don't need to re-jet it, but I need to buy the adapter plate, and while it's off I might just buy the rebuild kit and do that before I install it.

Well I sold my subaru today.
I made a deal with a kid from school, $550 and a toolbox full of tools, some snap on, lots of craftsman, and some cheap shit.. But I took the cash and was supposed to get the tools tomorrow. Well, the Subaru broke down on his drive home, and the money he gave me is gone, so he's pissed that I won't give the money back and now I don't get the tools.
I guess this is why someone on here told me they don't like selling cars to people they know, cuz shit like this happens, I look like the bad guy when I had no idea the car was gonna take a shit..
On the bright side, I have money to buy my weber adapter today!

Can someone tell me if there is two adapters or just one when mounting a weber on a z24? I can't remember.. But I got my kit and it has one plate, but three gaskets, where the fuck do all three of these go? Seems like there should only be 2 gaskets in the kit..

So before the weber I was getting around 9 mpg, and now I just got 21mpg on my last tank, and I've been enjoying the extra power from the weber, plus used a lot of gas idling and revving up while tuning my carb, so I'm pretty excited to see how great my mileage is now!
I'm gonna see if I can get 30mpg, just once..

Nice to see I am not the only one that uses Delo 15-40w in my rigs. Its plentiful for me at work, couple of 50 gallon drums of it in the shop. Gets a little thick in the North Dakota winters but, never had any problems!
