Re: Fuck The Reaper
Time for some catchup. I guess this is the rough stage of the build where it looks kind of crude. Stay with me though. In a month or two things should have a much more sanitary appearance. Stacked the rear brackets and ground on them for what seemed like an eternity. http://i283.photobucket.com/albu...

That kind of bullshit just breeds laziness. Shame those fuckers in to learning and speaking English. You know they understand it waaay better than they let on anyway.Taterhead » Fri Oct 10, 2014 12:08 pm wrote:Alot of the guys I work with, it's easier to tell them something in spanish once than in english 3 times.

Totally meant as a compliment. I really liked working with him. His ex-wife (then current) and my wife are still friends. I know he did some time then was setting up manufactured homes for awhile. Last I heard he was doing some sort of factory/manufacturing work on the east side. Troutdale? Most of ...

Re: Adam's annoying ass green 620
It was over 10 years ago. Bryan was a tech and Jamie was a writer. We all worked at Bassitt together. Jamie went back to Bassitt after about a year and Bryan got caught up in some ID theft / fraud thing that was connected to the Nissan shop. Haven't talked to either in a few years.

I have a couple former coworkers who worked there back when it was Beaverton Nissan. One was a service writer, the other was a tech. They used to run a team system there. I never fully understood it though.

Don't remove it unless you plan to replace it. That's what keeps your yoke from flopping around.

Are you asking about the rear bushing? Mine isn't out that far either. Like I said earlier, there was enough space in mine to stack 2 seals. Not sure why Kevin's is backed out so far.

Re: CL ads
Missing door isn't necessarily a deal breaker but I doubt you'd ever find a replacement. I think someone with the time and patience could fabricate a door since you have the other side to copy. Guys have scratch built cars for decades. The hard part would be correct latch and regulator.

Mine looks like the long rod on the bottom but with a nut welded on the pointy end so I can just use the lug wrench to raise and lower the tire.

I made mine but I assume it's not much like OEM. Lou, can you possibly post a pic of the stocker? Maybe BlueJuke can build one if nothing else turns up. I'm just curious to see what a proper one looks like.

Re: How to - use Plastigauge on Datsun engines
Good tip on the old credit card. Plastigauge is a great way to check your work. When I first started turning wrenches I worked for my uncle. I remember the first engine he let me freshen up for a longtime customer's old Chevy truck. Basically a reseal with rings and bearings and a valve job. I took ...

Re: 1968 510 rear bumper questions
That sounds right to me too. While they aren't technically the same you can interchange them with some work. At least that's the way it was always explained to me. IIRC the rear bumper on my wagon was originally (or at least previously) on a sedan.

Re: Fuck The Reaper
What do you normally drive in the winter? A 510 wagon :D . I was only half kidding. Could always tidy up some loose ends, sell it, and put the smEll Camino back into regular rotation. It hasn't been on the road in well over a year. Could drive the Cutlass too, I guess. It's not too nice to drive in...
