What? The logos aren't similar? Not political, just a poorly thought out attempt at a joke.

I don't care. I was trying to think if something in response, but I fail.

My bad. I just like it here because of the lack of political speak.

I saw what you were doing. I got it. I chuckled. And I rolled my eyes.

Keep at it with the wagon. 2nd week in June?

Im excited. I went very basic on them, and only a Speedometer and Tach. I have plans for the other gauges.

I also figured, I still have enough work to do, so buy something that doesnt need work. Plus somehow I always end up with more money after the holidays.

Oh, today the status on the gauges has been updated! They are now "in production." From everything I have read, it should be a short time now to shipping.

And I ordered stuff for the rest of the gauges on the car...

Which gauges did you go with, style not brand lol. I think the Legacy gauges look good.

Also, almost a whole page of this thread has gone by and it's photo-less. :)

Its been a month of planning and not doing. Between camping and Christmas and getting sick, blarg.

Gauges: I just went with the Econo line (speedhut series). I didnt care about any of the features on either the tach or speedometer. If I care I will add it in other ways.

Went with a 10k tach because the CA in stock form can hit 8400rpm. I also went with a 160mph speedometer, not that I think I will go that fast... 120 seemed too low. I would have liked a 140 option.

And I get them Tuesday!!!!

Now for the rest of the gauges. Gauges are spendy! and with as many I wanted/needed with this swap I was quickly running out of space in the interior and it was just too racey for me. So I came up with a different idea. To use an Arduino and a sceen.

That is an Arduino Mega on the bottom. Faster processor, more inputs and outputs than on a basic Arduino. Perfect for gather all the data from the engine and processing all that data to usable things...

On top we have a screen. But this screen is special. It has its own CPU and GPU and flash memory. It is also a touch screen. What this means it that it can store and handle all of the image processing that the screen needs to display. The Arduino then connects to the screen via a serial port (only 2 wires needed for communication).

I dont want anything too flashy, but I do want data. This will allow me to make it exactly how I want it to be displayed. These two together have costed a total of $55, which is under the cost of a single speedhut gauge of any sort.

That's pretty cool. Considerably more affordable than I would have expected too.

Bleh, didnt feel like coding. So instead I decided to try and figure out how I want the gauges to look. Of course Ill hand it off to my graphic design friend to work it over to make it look nicer. Spacing could be a bit better.

Im also planning on a few things, like with ACC power for it to just display the date and time. Ill see if I can get it to do some data collection, like record over time. Probably have a separate page displaying max readings, voltage, some other things yet to be thought off...

Yea. Motivation, I dont have much. I already have a kit in my car. I need to find a friend that is better at coding than me...

If your sick and tired it's hard to get motivated to do anything.
So are you going to have one screen in the dash that shows everything?
