Continuing the tradition '79 KC
Well, I just can't contain my excitement any longer.
The deal is all but done!
I am soon to be the new owner of a '79 KC 5spd!
I would like to thank Draynor (Derek) for being super awesome to work with! Honest, straight forward and all around great to deal with during this long distance transaction!! In my opinion has gone above and beyond the norm by lots!
Also, a big thank you to Eagle Adam, again, for storing her till I can come pick her up in a few weeks.
Here is link to Dereks thread on her. http://nwdatsuns.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=789
So a little history lesson on the "tradition" part.
My dad bought me my first Datsun in 1994. I pretty much aquired my 521 from my father in law in 2004. Now, in 2014, I am buying my son his first Datsun!
We are both very excited! I am looking forward to teaching him how to drive a stick. How to work on it and reap the rewards of his work. He is already talking to his friends about it and asked me if we could lower it! Hell yeah son!!!
First of all, he cannot drive by himself for another few months, 15 1/2 yrs old here in Idaho.
Second, I am not just handing him the keys and say here ya go boy, letter rip! He will need to show responsibility and respect for it. The first few months he will be restricted to school and back only. Oh and yes he already wants a job in order to pay for gas and his extra "goodies". I think there is hope for this kid yet.
The transaction is going down this week, already have pic of bill of sale and title.
Due to my work schedule, I will not be able to pick her up and drive her home till the 18th of March. This is where Adam comes in. He is giving her a nice place to rest till Neil (Farmer Joe) and I can go get her then.
I will definately post pics of the drive home when that happens.
Untill then, SUPER STOKED!!!

That will certainly make a very nice little first driver for a kid.

Congrats on the deal. My first Datto was a 620 also sans kingcab. Tell him to take the boat trim off the sides.
As soon as he finds the other thread we will never hear anything else about the truck.

Cool deal all around. There's a lot of life lessons to be learned/taught with this one.
When the only tool you have is a hammer every problem starts to look like a hippy.

If the paint code is still on the core support, I would love to know the factory code. That is the original color of my truck and I have no sticker.
Cograts on the truck. I'm sure your son will have a great time getting to know it.

Re: Continuing the tradition '79 KC
I would like to give Adam and Derek major props for workin on this truck and doing everything they can to insure I get a solid truck.
You guys fuckin rock!!!! DATSUN STYLE!
They have kept me updated on the progress of the truck all weekend.
Motor had a valve tick, valve adjustment did nothing to quiet it down. Off comes head and this is what they found.
Fuck! Looks like its been that way for a long time.
However...Nothing a heli coil and Adam cant handle....we now have threads
Then this happened
And then this happened
New timing set and peanut head.
Oh and then there is these
Plus a new tailgate....installed on the truck
Can't say thank you enough guys!! See ya Monday afternoon!!
I need a moment alone now for some fapping....
